The day started early but not too early. As we were situated just outside the mountains, it took us around 30min to be on the trail. Of course we traveled by car. They build the road which takes you to the top of the mountain. We had two routes to choose from. We went for the one more picturesque. Sometime it was dangerouse as we drove next to the clif but the views - the views were amazing! Just when we thought nothing could be better than Yellowstone Park. And again the road took us through the mountains from the bottom to the top and back to the bottom on the other side. On the way we stopped at many view points. Than we drove south towards Great Sand Dunes. The road down south was the best one in my opinion. Breath taking scenery all the way down. And than after few hours driving we reached Great Sand Dunes. I had a bizarre feeling when I saw it - a pile of sand between mountains and prairies. Just simply it shouldn't be there. But we enjoyed walking on it. The day was really long so we didn't drive far to find a place to stay.
Dzien rozpoczelismy dosc wczesnie, jak na nas, ostatnimy czasy. Jako ze nocowlismy pod gorami, dzien rozpoczal sie odrazu od powalajacych widokow. I jak mozna bylo sie tego spodziewac, przejechalismy przez gory. Od podnoza po szczyt i spowrotem prowadzila kreta droga, czesta zaraz nad przepascia bez zabezpieczen. Nadal zyjemy. Czesto zatrzymywalismy sie na punktach widokowych, bo bylo co podziwiac! Po zjechaniu z gor kierowalismy sie na poludnie. Jak dla mnie najlepsze droga do tej pory. Widoku po prostu zapierajace dech w piersiach. Na koniec dnia czekala na nas jeszcze jedna atrakcja- Wielkie Wydmy. Dziwaczne uczucie - kupa piasku pomiedzy gorami a pustynnymi polami. Po prostu wydmy tam nie pasowaly. Mimo wszystko przyjemnie bylo po nich pochodzic, powspinac sie i pozjezdzac. Po calym dniu atrakcji nadszedl czas na odpoczynek.
